The Z3 roadster comes equipped with the same engine range as the 3-series. Except that some versions are not available in all regions of the world. In Europe, for instance, the 2.5 liter 6 cylinder isn't available.
In 1996 it could be ordered with the 1.8 liter 115 bhp engine and the 1.9 liter 140 bhp engine.
Later on the 2.8 liter engine was available (except in the UK). A M version was also constructed which uses the same engine as the M3 Evo.
The 1.9 version was replaced by the 2.0 liter 6 cylinder, delivering 150 bhp.
The interior is similar to the E36 (the previous 3-series model, current model is the E46), which could be seen as a disadvantage. Climate control isn't available, manual air-conditioning is an option.
The standard steering wheel is somewhat too big, the M-version is a much better size.
Electric windows and mirrors are standard.
